DURHAM – Former Duke women's soccer star
Imani Dorsey made her first appearance as a member of the U.S. Women's National Team on Tuesday, playing 23 minutes in the team's 1-1 draw against Australia.
After being added to the USWNT roster earlier in November for its final two matches of the 2021 schedule, Dorsey was subbed into the match versus the Australian National Team in the 77th minute. The contest was played in front of 20,459 fans at McDonald Jones Stadium in New Castle, Australia.
Coming off 16 appearances for NJ/NY Gotham FC of the NWSL this season, Dorsey received her second call-up for a USWNT event. She attended the team's training camp in November of 2019 and participated at the Identification Training Camp a month later. The 2018 NWSL Rookie of the Year has previously represented the United States on the U-17, U-19 and U-23 National Teams.
The defender was one of five players who made their debut for the USWNT during the two-game trip.
