MIAMI, Fla. – Duke women's tennis wrapped up competition at the Miami Fall Invite Sunday afternoon, going 5-1 between singles and doubles action on the final day of play.
The strong run of play continued for Duke, as the team kicked off day three with singles matches against opponents from Kentucky and Columbia. Three of the four matches went the way of the Blue Devils, with each victory coming in straight sets.
Junior
Chloe Beck faced one of her doubles opponents from the previous day, defeating Kentucky's Carlota Molina 6-0, 6-2. Senior
Kelly Chen followed suit with a 6-3, 6-1 win over the Wildcats' Elizabeth Stevens, while classmate
Margaryta Bilokin bested Columbia's Anna Zhang 6-1 and 6-2 to capture Duke's third singles victory.
Senior
Georgia Drummy came up short in her singles match, falling to the Lions' Akanksha Bhan in three sets.
The tandem of Beck and Bilokin competed in both of Duke's doubles matches, earning a pair of victories to help the team complete the weekend with a 4-0 mark in doubles. The duo bested Barry University's Madeline Bosnjak/Deniz Khazan, 6-2, before closing out the day with a 6-3 triumph over the Columbia pairing of Akanksha Bhan/ Anna Zhang.
