Carter II Accepts Invitation to NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke safety Michael Carter II has accepted an invitation to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
The Collegiate Bowl is being hosted virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will be held on Jan. 13 & 14.

Carter II joins teammates Deon Jackson at this year's event and becomes the seventh Blue Devil to be invited to the NFLPA Bowl. Takoby Cofield (2014), Max McCaffrey (2015), Breon Borders (2016), Trevon McSwain (2019) and Koby Quansah (2019) also participated in the game.

A Third Team All-ACC selection, Carter II garnered 41 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, two interceptions and eight pass breakups during his senior season. He finished tied for ninth in the ACC in passes defended with 10. He also earned a season best eight tackles against Charlotte and accumulated three-plus tackles six times on the year.

For his career, Carter II recorded 135 tackles, 7.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, four interceptions, 24 PBUs, one caused fumble, one fumble recovery and one QB pressure. His 24 pass breakups place him tied with Quinton McCracken (1988-91) for 10th all-time in program history. Carter II wrapped up his Blue Devil career having played 2,505 career snaps.
