BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – After a solid four seasons with the Duke women's golf program, recent Blue Devil graduate
Ana Belac will make her professional debut this week as she will compete in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship at the Battle Creek Country Club in Battle Creek, Mich., July 24-26. Â
Belac will be joined by 2014 Duke graduate Laetitia Beck, who enters her seventh year on the professional golf ranks. Â
A total of 144 golfers will tee off this week over 54 holes of action. Belac will open play on hole 10 Friday at 8:03 a.m., while Beck will start at 1:47 p.m., on hole No. 1. Â
A product of Portoroz, Slovenia, Belac helped lead Duke to the 2019 NCAA Championship as she went 3-0 in match play, while also being a part of the 2017 and 2018 ACC Championship teams. She closed her Blue Devil career ranking tied seventh in even or under par rounds (49), seventh in stroke average (72.90), tied for fifth in rounds in the 60s (19), sixth in birdies (333) and tied for second in eagles (8). Belac turned in two wins, nine top five, 13 top 10 and 22 top 20 finishes over the four years.
Beck, who hails from Israel, competed in 17 events on the Symetra Tour a year ago and made all 17 cuts, while earning $48,635, which ranked 26th. Â
