PARIS, Texas – For the second time this month, former Duke University women's golf standout Celine Boutier has hoisted a trophy as she claimed the Kathy Whitworth Paris Championship Friday afternoon at the Paris Golf & Country Club in Paris, Texas.
Boutier carded rounds of 69, 69, 69 and 66 for a seven-under-par, 273, and finished in a tie with Catherine O'Donnell. The duo went to a playoff and Boutier won with a par on the first hole.
Heading into the final round, Boutier was fourth overall, but she carded five birdies in the final round to move up the leaderboard. She collected birdies on No. 2 and No. 4, before making the turn with a one-under-33. O'Donnell held a three-shot lead heading into the back nine, but Boutier got hot with birdies on No. 10, 11 and 13, before parring the final five holes.
Boutier's birdie on No. 13 proved to be a pivotal part of the final round, while O'Donnell bogeyed and Boutier jumped into the lead. O'Donnell birdied No. 18 to force the playoff.
Boutier also won the Texas Women's Open June 4 in The Colony, Texas.
