Duke women's basketball play-by-play announcer Chris Edwards is giving fans an inside look at some of his memorable basketball moments throughout his four years as the Voice of the Blue Devils. The events highlighted during this series are not meant to be a complete listing of all memorable accomplishments, but a sampling of great moments in Edwards' words.
There is no better rivalry in all of athletics than Duke-North Carolina and, no matter the sport, when the two shades of blue get together, it is always a big deal.
During my first trip to Chapel Hill with Duke women's basketball, I was able to experience how much players rise to the occasion first hand and no one rose to the challenge of that rivalry like Rebecca Greenwell.
During the 2016-17 season, Duke had already won the first meeting between the two schools in Durham, 70-58, and as the Blue Devils entered Carmichael Arena looking for the regular-season sweep, it would be Greenwell who would deliver.
She finished with a game-high 30 points with six three-pointers as Duke downed the Tar Heels, 95-71, and capped the regular season with a 25-4 record.
However, for Greenwell, it would not be her last big game against the Tar Heels, but we'll have more on that in the coming weeks.
