Ten Programs Honored by NCAA for APR Achievement

DURHAM, N.C. --Â Ten of Duke's intercollegiate athletic programs were honored Tuesday with NCAA Public Recognition Awards. The awards are presented annually to teams finishing among the top 10 percent of their respective sport based on the most recent multiyear Academic Performance Rate (APR).
The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.
Duke's 10 programs that received the honor include men's golf, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, women's cross country, women's fencing, women's soccer, women's swimming & diving, women's tennis, women's track & field and women's volleyball.
Duke's women's fencing and men's golf programs have earned the honor in all 15 years of the program.
This year, Duke ranked sixth nationally with 10 teams honored, trailing only Notre Dame (13), Northwestern (13), Villanova (12), Stanford (12) and Arizona State (11).
In addition, Duke was second among ACC schools, trailing only Notre Dame and ahead of North Carolina (7), Syracuse (6), Boston College (5), Louisville (5), Miami (5), NC State (5), Wake Forest (5), Clemson (4), Florida State (4), Virginia (4), Virginia Tech (4), Georgia Tech (2) and Pittsburgh (2).
Over the past 14 years, Duke has ranked among the nation's top FBS institutions in terms of raw number of sports receiving the APR public recognition awards:
