DURHAM, N.C. – With the 10th-ranked Duke women's tennis team's 2020 season coming to a close due to COVID-19 concerns, GoDuke.com recapped sophomore
Margaryta Bilokin's successful year.
Bilokin concluded the season ranked No. 56 in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll as she reached as high as 48 this year, the highest of her Blue Devil career.
Bilokin went 10-1 in dual match action, playing the majority of her matches on court three where she posted a flawless 9-0 performance. She went undefeated (3-0) in conference play and was riding a four-match win streak prior to the season being canceled.
The sophomore opened the season in dominant fashion with wins against Grand Canyon (6-0, 6-2) and Elon (6-0, 6-0). She earned a big 6-3, 6-4 victory over No. 36 Anastasia Iamachkine in Duke's 4-1 victory over No. 6 Pepperdine during the round of 16 at the 2020 ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Chicago.
During the fall season, Bilokin posted an 8-4 record to open her second season with the Blue Devils.
