DURHAM, N.C. – GoDuke.com recently checked in with Duke volleyball freshman
Gracie Johnson to look back at her first season with the Blue Devils and to see how she's adjusting to online classes.
Where are you now?
"I'm at home in Virginia Beach, Va."
What are you doing to stay active?
"I am doing the team workouts given to us. As well as running and constantly looking online for new workouts to do. I am also playing beach volleyball a few times per week."
How are you adjusting to online classes?
"I have been adjusting to online classes well, thanks to the help of my teammates and all of the professors that are very understanding."
What was your favorite memory from this season?
"My favorite memory this season was beating NC State in five sets at home, when we were down two sets in the beginning."
What do you miss most about being at Duke?
"I miss my teammates and the whole Duke family the most!"
Johnson saw action in 29 of Duke's games as a rookie last season as an outside hitter.
She ranked third on the team in kills with 209 with 2.2 kills/set and added 11 service aces. The freshman tallied 208 total digs over the season to go along with 48 total blocks at the net.
The Virginia Beach, Va., native recorded a season high 16 kills in Duke's five-set thriller over NC State and 19 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.
