DURHAM, N.C. – On what would have been Senior Day for 10th-ranked Duke women's tennis, we wanted to celebrate the successes
Meible Chi and
Summer Dvorak had on and off the court.
Chi has been a constant in the Blue Devil lineup the last four years, amassing a 112-34 career singles record (76.7 win percentage) and an 80-37 career doubles record (68.4 win percentage).
On November 2, 2019, during fall competition, Chi became the 26th player in Duke women's tennis history to reach the 100-win plateau in singles.
The Weston, Fla., native has qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship the last three years and was tabbed an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete the last three years for her accomplishments in the classroom.
A first team All-ACC selection in 2019 and a second team honoree in 2018, Chi earned a career-high ranking of eighth in the country in singles and 24th in doubles competition.
Chi will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Evolutionary Anthropology with minors in biology and chemistry with a concentration in human biology. She owns a 3.44 GPA.
In addition to earning a spot on the ACC Academic Honor Roll the past three seasons, Chi was also tabbed to the All-ACC Academic Team (2018, 2019).
In the spring of 2020, Chi was named one of five finalists for the ITA Ann Lebedeff Leadership Award, which honors a player who demonstrated excellence on and off the court, leadership on the team as well as on the college campus and in the community.
Dvorak decided to complete her fifth year of eligibility at Duke after completing her undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt and enrolled in the Fuqua School of Business Masters in Management Studies program.
While at Vanderbilt, Dvorak earned the highest singles ranking of 96 and 25 in doubles.
In 2018, she was tabbed second team All-SEC as she added 29 victories in singles competition, highlighted by three wins over top-100 ranked opponents. She was the champion of the Debbie Southern Fall Classic in 2017 and reached the quarterfinals of the 2017 ITA Division I Women's Ohio Valley Regional Championship.
As a senior in 2019, Dvorak played to a 14-9 singles record on court six and only dropped one away match. She formed a successful doubles team with Fernanda Contreras and played to a 24-12 doubles ledger.
This year with the Blue Devils, Dvorak posted a 10-4 record that included going 6-1 in dual match play with all of her matches on court six. She went undefeated (2-0) in conference play and registered an 8-8 doubles ledger.
