GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced the seedings and bracket for the 67th annual New York Life ACC Tournament, which will be played Tuesday through Saturday at the Greensboro Coliseum. Defending champion Duke is the tournament's No. 4-seed and has a double-bye to the quarterfinals where it will play Thursday at 2:30 p.m. ET against either No. 5 NC State, No. 12 Wake Forest or No. 13 Pitt.
Regular season champion Florida State (26-5 overall, 16-4 ACC) will be the top-seeded team for the first time in the tournament's history. The Seminoles will receive a double-bye into Thursday's quarterfinal round, along with No. 2 seed Virginia (23-7, 15-5), No. 3 Louisville (24-7, 15-5) and No. 4 Duke (25-6,. 15-5).
The Blue Devils' 21 ACC Tournament championships are the most in conference history, two more than North Carolina and 10 more than NC State. Fifteen of the titles have come under head coach
Mike Krzyzewski. Duke is 97-40 all-time when playing at Greensboro Coliseum, including 39-18 in ACC Tournament action with eight titles (2011, 2010, 2006, 2003, 1988, 1986, 1980, 1978).
The tournament opens Tuesday with two first-round games. No. 12 Wake Forest (13-17, 6-14) faces No. 13 Pitt (15-16, 6-14) at 4:30 p.m. ET, followed by No. 11 Virginia Tech (16-15, 7-13) taking on No. 14 North Carolina (13-18, 6-14) at 7 p.m.
Fifth-seeded NC State (19-12, 10-10), No. 6 Syracuse (17-14, 10-10), No. 7 Notre Dame (19-12, 10-10), No. 8 Clemson (15-15, 9-11), No. 9 Miami (15-15, 7-13) and No. 10 Boston College (13-18, 7-13) will play their opening tournament games on Wednesday. Clemson and Miami will square off at noon, while NC State will await the winner of Wake Forest and Pitt for a 2 p.m. matchup. Notre Dame and BC will then play at 7 p.m. while the winner of Virginia Tech and North Carolina will face Syracuse at 9 p.m.
Wednesday's winners will advance to face the tournament's four top seeded teams in Thursday's quarterfinal round.
The 2020 New York Life ACC Tournament will culminate with a pair of semifinal games on Friday evening and the championship game on Saturday night. This year's championship game is set for a primetime 8:30 p.m. start.
All 13 tournament games will be nationally televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or ACC Network. In addition, all games will be available for streaming via ACCNX.
