DURHAM, N.C. – As both the Duke men's and women's golf programs get set to open the 2020 spring slate, there is still time for Blue Devil supporters to join the Birdies for Babies program, which benefits the Duke Children's Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units.
In the fall, the Blue Devils raised $7,594.75 for Birdies for Babies. Through three years of the Birdies for Babies program, the Blue Devils have raised over $44,000 to go towards the Duke Children's Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units.
Those looking to support Duke's partnership with the Duke Children's can make pledges per birdie. Pledges will start at $0.50 and high pledge increments are welcome. If the Blue Devils register an eagle (counts as two birdies), albatross (three birdies) and hole-in-one (four birdies) they will count as stated. Each pledge will receive an autographed photo of the Duke women's golf team.
The men's program will open the spring March 1-2 at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. The women's team will kick off 2020 Feb. 9-11 at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif.
