Setting the Scene...
Coming off the Blue Devils' most impressive win of the season, the Duke women's basketball team (15-10, 9-5 ACC) will host Virginia (11-14, 6-8) Thursday, Feb. 20 in Cameron Indoor Stadium at 7 p.m. It will mark senior day for four Blue Devils --
Kyra Lambert,
Haley Gorecki,
Emily Schubert and
Leaonna Odom. The foursome will be recognized immediately following the game.
The game will be aired live on the ACC Network Extra with
Ryan Craig (PXP) and Debbie Taylor (Color) calling the action. It will also be carried on the Duke Sports Network via WDNC AM 620, TuneIn app and www.GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards (PXP) on the air beginning at 6:45 p.m. (ET).
What is Next?...
Duke will close the regular season with three road contests. The first will be at 10th-ranked NC State Monday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m., live on ESPN2. It will mark the Wolfpack's annual Play 4 Kay contest.
Three Keys...
1) Two of the top ACC players will square off Thursday with Duke's
Haley Gorecki and Virginia's Jocelyn Willoughby. Gorecki and Willoughby lead the ACC in free throws made and are the top two scorers in ACC games. In overall games, Willoughby is first in scoring and Gorecki is third.
2)
Haley Gorecki is the only power five conference player nationally to average over 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals.
3)
Mikayla Boykin missed the Florida State contest due to lower body soreness. She is listed as day-to-day. Boykin has suffered four ACL injuries over both knees over her hoops career.
Strength of Schedule...
The Blue Devils feature the 10th-toughest schedule nationally -- Oklahoma (1), Virginia (2), Missouri (3), Oregon (4), Ohio State (5), Oregon State (6), Oklahoma State (7), Maryland (8), Auburn (9) and Duke (10) round out the top 10.
Duke's five non-conference losses in 2019-20 came against teams that have collected a combined 109-21 record.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 31 in the latest RPI.

Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
• The Blue Devils have won 13 out of the last 14 senior night games with the lone loss coming to Georgia Tech in 2015-16.
• Duke has won eight out of the last 10 and six out of the last seven contests.

Haley Gorecki's 14 free throws made against Florida State is tied for the second-most in a game in Blue Devil history. The school record was 15 by Monique Currie (2006) and Nicole Johnson (1992).
• Over the last four games, Duke has averaged only 15.0 turnovers a game and hasn't featured more than 18 in a game during that span. • Duke has won six out of the last seven games and during that stretch the Blue Devils have averaged 70.0 points, while holding opponents to only 57.6 points per game. Duke has hit 45.1 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from downtown. The Blue Devil opponents have hit 36.4 percent from the field and 26.4 percent from three-point land.
• The Blue Devils dished a season-high 21 assists on the road at Miami and then beat that by one the next game at Pitt with 22. Over those two games, Duke dished 43 assists. It marked the most in back-to-back ACC games since the 2013-14 campaign (44).

Leaonna Odom has notched double-figure scoring in nine straight contests, while averaging 16.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.2 assists. She has hit 57.9 percent from the field during those games.
• In ACC games,
Haley Gorecki and
Leaonna Odom have combined to average 33.6 points, 12.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. Gorecki ranks second the ACC in scoring at 19.36 points per contest, just behind Virginia's Jocelyn Willoughby (19.86).
• In the ACC stats, Duke leads the league with 10.1 steals per game and ranks 39th nationally.

Haley Gorecki averaged 36.1 minutes a contest last season and is averaging 36.1 minutes in 2019-20. She would become the first Blue Devil to average 35.0 minutes or more in back-to-back seasons.
• Duke trailed, 40-33, heading into the fourth quarter against Notre Dame and rallied for a 50-47 victory. It was the Blue Devils' largest comeback in the fourth quarter since the NCAA moved to the quarter system in 2015-16.

Haley Gorecki currently ranks first in the ACC with 139 made free throws and second with 162 attempts, while ranking third with an 85.8 free throw percentage. Her 139 free throws made ranks tied for seventh nationally.
• For the sixth time this season, Duke had five players hit at least one three-pointer at Miami. Duke had not featured five different players hitting a trey since the 2014-15 campaign when it did it twice.

Leaonna Odom ranks fourth in the ACC in field goal percentage, at 54.6 percent per game.

The Series with Virginia...
Duke and Virginia will meet for the 73rd time in school history with the Blue Devils winning 26 out of the last 28 contests with the Cavaliers. Duke has dropped two straight to Virginia, both meetings coming in Charlottesville, Va.
In the series, Duke leads with a 38-34 advantage. The Blue Devils have totaled an 18-14 record in games played in Durham, N.C., including 14 straight wins.
Coach P has notched a 13-2 record as a head coach against Virginia. All games have come while she was at Duke.
Last Meeting...
Boosted by a 12-0 run late, Virginia came-from-behind to take down Duke, 66-63, Jan. 9 in Charlottesville, Va.
Duke led 59-51 with 3:38 remaining, but the Cavaliers used the big run to drop the Blue Devils.
Graduate
Haley Gorecki posted her second game with 20 or more points as she scored a game-high 27 points to go along with a season-high six steals, five assists and four rebounds.
The Blue Devils built as big as an eight-point lead with 3:38 left in the contest, after
Mikayla Boykin connected on a layup and free throw. Virginia would not back down as the Cavaliers scored back-to-back buckets to cut the Duke lead to 59-56 with 2:34 left.
During the run,
Miela Goodchild connected on her 100th career three-pointer, becoming the quickest Duke student-athlete to 100 treys in only 45 contests.
Willoughby led Virginia with 24 points.
Win Streak...
A win on Thursday against Virginia would be Duke's first five-game winning streak since Dec. 7-31, 2017. The last five-game ACC winning streak came Jan. 29 - Feb. 12, 2015.
The Blue Devils notched wins against Pitt (62-45), Louisville (66-58), Wake Forest (70-53), Clemson (89-60) and Virginia (71-45).
Turnarounds...
After opening ACC action with a 1-3 record, the Blue Devils have since won eight out of the last 10 contests.
It is the best turnaround for the Blue Devils since 2017-18 when Duke opened 0-2 in the league and then won nine out of its next 11 contests.
Moving Up Points List...
Leaonna Odom is currently in 18th place on Duke's all-time scoring list with 1,314 points and is 53 points from matching Haley Peters (1,367) for 17th.
Haley Gorecki (1,284) needs two points to move into a tie for 21st along with Tyish Hall (1,286) and 14 points to move into a tie for 20th along with Lindsey Harding (1,298).
Williams Nets First...
For the first time in her three-year career,
Jade Williams has totaled double-figure scoring in four straight contests.
Over the last four games, she has averaged 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals. She has hit 22-of-37 field goals for a 59.5 percentage. Williams had a season-high 16 points at Miami as she hit 7-of-10 field goals.
At Home in Cameron...
So far this season, Duke has posted an 11-3 record at home and is averaging 70.5 points a game in Cameron.
Haley Gorecki has averaged 19.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.1 steals at home. In her last three home games, Gorecki has averaged 22.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocked shots.
Gorecki Moves into Top 10 List...
Graduate
Haley Gorecki has made 307 career free throws and is only one shy of moving into a tie for eighth along with Chante Black (308).
In 2019-20, Gorecki has made 139 free throws, which ranks seventh on Duke's single season charts. She is nine away from matching Chris Moreland (148).
