Adrien Pendaries has been selected Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week after his strong performance at the Arnold Palmer Cup in leading the International Team to a victory.
Pendaries and the International squad collected a commanding 40.5-19.5 victory in the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup, which closed action this past Wednesday at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Fla. A senior from Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, Pendaries finished the week with a 3-1 record to help guide the Internationals to a second consecutive victory. The Duke senior is no stranger to match play competition as the All-ACC performer and two-time All-Region pick owns a 9-3 career record in collegiate match play events.
The Blue Devil wrapped up his successful week with a 4&2 win over Pierceson Coody in singles action. He dropped the first hole, but got hot in the middle of the round by winning holes No. 8 and No. 9 to take a 2-up lead. He closed the action with an eagle on the par-five 16th to take the victory. He teamed with Pauline Roussin-Bouchard to deliver the Internationals a point on Monday with a 2&1 win in Mixed Fourball. In Tuesday's Foursomes, he and Matthias Schmind produced a 1-up victory.
