WASHINGTON, D.C. – Recent Duke signee Jordan Moore was selected one of two winners of the 3M Player to Win Award, presented by the Military Bowl and 3M.
Â
Moore was selected by a variety of criteria, including a passion for football and team spirit, having family members who served in the military, a demonstrated strong interest in STEM studies, and in social and racial justice causes.
Â
"The 3M Play to Win Award is special because it honors student-athletes for their commitment in the classroom and in the community," 3M Government Markets Marketing Operations Manager Skip Driessen said. "Jordan is an impressive young man who has demonstrated leadership qualities in everything he does."
Â
Moore, the son of two service members, is set to enroll at Duke in January. He comes to Durham from Loyola Blakefield High School where he was a three-star prospect and four-year letterwinner for the Dons.
Â
"When you're doing what you love, you don't really get tired," Moore said, explaining how he handles what seems like a busy schedule. "I think I take the most pride in Peer Education, because it gives me the opportunity to share the knowledge I've learned with all the other students and we advise students how to make healthy decisions. That's where I've had the most impact."
Â
The Sykesville, Md., native was charted as the No. 26 and No. 27 dual threat quarterback in the nation by ESPN.com and Rivals.com, respectively. In three-plus seasons (senior year cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic), Moore recorded 3,410 passing yards and 36 passing TDs while rushing for 1,120 yards and 11 scores
Â
At Loyola he also participated in the Black Student Union and Peer Education Group and volunteered to mentor disadvantaged youth in Baltimore City, focusing on helping them with STEM studies. Moore's brother, Jayden, was the 2019 3M Play to Win Award winner.
