DURHAM, N.C. – The All-ACC women's soccer team was announced Friday with Duke's
Sophie Jones,
Delaney Graham and
Taylor Mitchell earning accolades as the sixth-ranked Blue Devils prepare to compete in the ACC Championship semifinals in Cary, N.C., later this afternoon.
Jones was named to the first team, while both Graham and Mitchell earned third team honors.
A native of Menlo Park, Calif., Jones has started all 13 matches on the season for the Blue Devils in the midfield. Jones is one of the most dynamic players in the league and totaled two assists on the season. She has seen action in 909 minutes and has been a key component in the midfield for Duke all year long.
Graham earned All-ACC honors for the second straight season, after receiving All-ACC Second Team accolades a year ago. A product of Atlanta, Ga., Graham has seen action at both the forward and defensive slots in 2020. She has totaled two goals and one assist, while starting all 10 matches played. Graham has also helped lead the Duke defense to six shutouts, which ranks third in the league.
A backbone of Duke's defensive unit for the last four years, Mitchell earned All-ACC accolades for the first time in her career. Mitchell, who hails from Tarzana, Calif., has started all 12 matches in 2020 and leads the squad with 1,085 minutes. She has collected two assists and helped lead the Blue Devils to six shutouts. Over the last four years, Mitchell has helped Duke's defense to 36 shutouts.
Duke now owns 99 all-time All-ACC selections, which ranks third all-time in the league.
The fifth-seeded and sixth-ranked Blue Devils will face top-seeded and second-ranked Florida State Friday, Nov. 13 in the semifinals of the ACC Championship at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The match will kick at 5:30 p.m., live on ACC Network.
