CARY, N.C. – Duke men's tennis wrapped up its unattached fall season as a handful of Blue Devils competed in the Atlantic Tire Championships at the Cary Tennis Park this week.

Sophomore
Garrett Johns represented Duke in singles action, opening tournament play in the round of 32 on Monday with a three-set comeback victory over No. 244 Noah Rubin. After falling 6-4 in the first set, Johns battled back for a 6-3 win in the second. Trailing 2-5 in the third, Johns saved four match points and garnered a 7-5 victory for his first career ATP Challenger main draw win.

Johns advanced to the round of 16 where he faced No. 124 Denis Kudla on Wednesday. Kudla, the two-seed in the tournament, defeated Johns in two sets (6-2, 6-1).

Edu Güell and
Sean Sculley teamed up for doubles play, competing in the round of 16 on Wednesday. The Blue Devils, who were paired against Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Rebul from France, were edged in two sets (6-4, 6-4).
