Setting the Scene...
   The Duke women's basketball team (7-6, 1-1 ACC) will hit the road this weekend for Louisville, Ky., as the Blue Devils take on seventh-ranked Louisville (13-1, 2-0) Sunday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m., in the KFC Yum! Center. Â
   The game will be aired live on ACC Network with Pam Ward (PXP) and Kelly Gramlich (Color). It will also be carried on the Duke Sports Network via WDNC AM 620, TuneIn app and www.GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards (PXP) on the air beginning at 1:45 p.m. (ET).
What is Next?...
   Duke will close a two-game road trip at Virginia Thursday, Jan. 9 with a 6 p.m., contest in Charlottesville, Va. It will be aired live on ACC Network. Â
Three Keys...
   1)  Duke's five non-conference losses in 2019-20 came against teams that have collected a combined 62-7 record. The Blue Devils feature the fifth-toughest schedule nationally -- Virginia (1), Ohio State (2), New Orleans (3), Oklahoma (4) and Duke (5). Â
   2) Redshirt freshman
Mikayla Boykin made her 2019-20 debut against WFU. She scored two points and had two assists in nine minutes, after being out for 350 days.
   3) Graduate
Kyra Lambert has averaged 9.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.3 assists over the last four games in which she was inserted into the starting lineup. She has drained 5-of-13 treys in those games and hit one three-pointer in each of the games.
Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
   •   Over the last two games against Louisville,
Leaonna Odom has averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks.
   •   In the ACC stats, Duke leads the league with 9.92 steals per game.
   •   Over the last four games,
Azana Baines has averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals. She has scored double-digits in two of those contests (Boston College 15, FGCU 10). Â

Miela Goodchild has hit only 3-of-19 three-pointers the last three contests. She snapped a four-game streak of scoring double-digits at FGCU. Â

Onome Akinbode-James has scored only three points the last four contests.

Jade Williams is coming off collecting 11 points and seven rebounds in a season-high 36 minutes against Wake Forest.
   •   The Blue Devils dropped back-to-back games of 20 or more points for the first time since the 1996-97 campaign.

Haley Gorecki, Kiah Gillespie of Florida State and Shayla Bennett of UNC are the only three players in the ACC to post double-digit rebounds and double-digit assists in a game in 2019-20.
   •   Duke's five losses in November/December are the most for the Blue Devils since the 1983-84 season (6). Â

Haley Gorecki had a streak of 14 straight games with at least one three-pointer come to an end at South Carolina. She also had a 14-game double-figure scoring streak end in the same contest.
   •   Duke will feature almost a three-inch height advantage over Louisville, when the two teams hit the hardwood Sunday. The Cardinals feature a 70.42 average height, while Duke owns a 73.21 mark. The Blue Devils are the tallest team in the ACC in 2019-20.
   •   The 93 points in the season opener was the third-most by a Duke team under the direction of head coach
Joanne P. McCallie -- 104 in 2009-10 and 98 in 2016-17.
   •   Duke features the fourth-tallest squad in school history standing with an average height of 73.21. The three tallest teams were in 2016-17 (73.38), 2011-12 and 2014-15 (73.25).

   Duke and Louisville will meet for the eighth time in school history with the Cardinals leading the series, 4-3.   In games played in Louisville, Ky., the Blue Devils are 0-2.

Haley Gorecki had one of her best performances of her short career in the last meeting at Louisville on Jan. 4, 2017. Â
   She opened the contest hitting her first eight field goals and had 19 first half points, including 3-of-3 from long range. She went on to finish with 25 points, six assists, five rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 34 minutes. Â
Nearing 100 Treys...
   Sophomore
Miela Goodchild is two three-pointers away from reaching 100 treys during her short career. If she reaches the mark over the next couple of games she would become the quickest Duke student-athlete to 100 in Blue Devil history. Goodchild has seen action in only 43 contests in two seasons.

Three-Game Skid...
   Duke will look to snap a three-game losing skid as the Blue Devils dropped games at South Carolina and FGCU, while losing at home to Wake Forest.
   The Blue Devils have averaged only 53.3 points, hit 33.3 percent from the field, 17.5 percent from downtown and averaged 21.7 turnovers during the streak.
   Opponents have averaged 75.7 points a game and Duke has been outrebounded by a 38.0-36.0 margin. Â
Boykin Returns...
   After missing most of the last two seasons with knee injuries, redshirt freshman
Mikayla Boykin returned to action Jan. 2 versus Wake Forest. She scored two points in nine minutes, while dishing two assists. Â
   In her first two seasons, Boykin had been limited to only 18 games due to injuries. She averaged 6.7 points, 3.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds in that limited time. Â
   Boykin last had surgery Tuesday, Jan. 22, after suffering an ACL injury. She has suffered four ACL injuries over her hoops career. In her eight games last season, Boykin averaged 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals. Boykin scored a career-high 13 points at ninth-ranked NC State. She added a career-high 11 assists at Georgia Tech. The 11 assists tied a Duke freshman record. Â
Odom Misses Games...
   Senior
Leaonna Odom missed the last two contests at FGCU and versus Wake Forest as she is dealing with a lower body injury. She is day-to-day and is questionable for the Louisville contest.
Gorecki Getting to the Line...
   Graduate
Haley Gorecki currently leads the ACC 74 made free throws and 86 attempts, while ranking third with an 86.0 free throw percentage.
   Gorecki ranks tied for sixth nationally with 74 made free throws and ninth with 86 attempts.
   She has hit a career-best 13 free throws in two different games this season, while hitting 10-of-10 from the line against Troy.
Tough Non-Conference Slate...
   Of Duke's 11 non-conference opponents in 2019-20, eight of those have winning records. Overall, the Blue Devil opponents have combined for a 100-38 mark so far through Jan. 2.
       Here is a closer look - High Point (2-8), Texas A&M (13-1), UNLV (5-8), Northwestern (12-1), Idaho State (4-6), Troy (10-2), Davidson (7-6), Penn (10-1), Nebraska (11-2), South Carolina (13-1), FGCU (13-2).

Lambert Gets First Starts...
   It had been 995 days since
Kyra Lambert had started a game at Duke. The Blue Devil graduate changed that against Boston College on Dec. 8 as she played a then season-high 30 minutes, while scoring eight points, grabbing five rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot. Â
   She had been limited in minutes prior to the month of December, after returning from missing the last two years with knee injuries. Â
   Lambert has averaged 9.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.3 assists over the last four games in which she was inserted into the starting lineup. Â
On the Road...
   Duke owns a 1-4 record in true road games in 2019-20, including three straight losses.
   The Blue Devils have struggled scoring on the road as Duke has been held to under 60 points in four of the five games.
   Duke has averaged 59.2 points, turned the ball over 21.2 times a game, hit 38.9 percent from the field and 25.6 percent from downtown.
