DURHAM, N.C. – Duke men's tennis garnered its first shutout victory of the season when it defeated Campbell, 7-0, Friday night in the Sheffield Tennis Center.

The Blue Devils (5-0) improved their win streak to five, continuing their best start since 2015, while handing Campbell (0-1) its first loss of the 2020 season.

Beginning with doubles action, No. 11 Nick Stachowiak and Sean Sculley finished first with a 6-4 win over Campbell's Raphael Calzi and Gustavs Lukstins on court one. Duke clinched the doubles point with another 6-4 victory by No. 42 Andrew Zhang and Michael Heller on court three.

Heading into singles play with a 1-0 lead, freshman Garrett Johns was first off with a 6-4, 6-0 win on court four, while Samuel Rubell followed with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph on three. No. 117 Zhang secured the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory on court five.

"I've always dreamed of playing here [Duke], playing college tennis, playing for my teammates and my coaches," Zhang said. "Clinching is a super special feeling and I'm really glad I got to experience that today. At the start I was playing a little shaky – a lot of nerves – but I think this match was definitely a confidence booster for me."

Continuing action, Luca Keist expanded Duke's lead to 5-0 after knocking off Bastien Huon (6-4, 6-3) at No. 2 singles. Despite dropping the second set, Heller cruised through a super tiebreaker (10-2) for a victory on court six. Stachowiak completed the sweep on the top court with a gritty three-set feat (1-6, 6-3, 6-3).

The Blue Devils return to action next Friday, Jan. 31 against No. 12 Illinois. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in the Sheffield Tennis Center.
