CLEMSON, S.C. – Riding a two-game winning streak, the Duke women's basketball team traveled to Clemson, S.C., Sunday and dropped a 62-58 decision on the road at Clemson in Littlejohn Coliseum.
With the loss, the Blue Devils dropped to 9-9 overall and 3-4 in the ACC, while snapping a 23-game winning streak against the Tigers. Clemson moved to 7-11 overall and 3-4.

Haley Gorecki collected an overall great contest with 16 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Sophomore
Miela Goodchild added 12 second half points.
For the second straight contest, the Blue Devils got off to a slow start as Clemson scored the first 12 points of the game and Duke didn't register a field goal until the 6:55 mark off a put back from sophomore
Onome Akinbode-James. The Blue Devils were held to 3-of-17 field goals and trailed 20-7 at the end of the first.
Both teams struggled in the second quarter combining for 15 points as Clemson increased its lead to 28-14. The Blue Devils were held without a field goal for the final 4:32 of the second quarter and only 2-of-17 field goals in the second. The 14 points in the first half was tied for the fourth fewest in the first half in school history.
Gorecki paced the Blue Devils with seven first half points, while Odom added five. Duke was 0-of-10 from long range over the first 20 minutes.
Duke got its offense going in the third period scoring 17 points led by Gorecki with five and Goodchild with eight. The Tigers though drained four three-pointers and led, 47-31, heading into the final quarter.
Odom scored four straight points in the fourth quarter to cut the Clemson lead to 51-42 with 5:31 remaining, which was the first the deficit was in single digits since the first quarter.
At the 2:35 mark, Odom was injured after going up for a layup, after scoring eight straight points for the Blue Devils. Odom returned to action shortly after she left the floor. Junior
Jade Williams finished a layup from Gorecki to cut the Clemson lead to 54-50 with 2:29 remaining.
After Odom grabbed a steal under the basket and scored the layup, Goodchild sank a free throw with 1:11 to cut the lead to 56-53. Clemson would go on to sink two free throws and Williams added another layup off a great pass from Gorecki and Duke trailed, 58-55, with 47.7 second on the clock.
Clemson added a free throw with 10 seconds left and then Gorecki connected on a jumper with 3.4 seconds remaining to cut the lead to 60-58. The Tigers came back to hit two free throws to seal the contest.
Duke hit 58.8 percent from the field in the fourth quarter and outscored Clemson, 27-15. The Blue Devils were outrebounded, 50-39, but had a season-high 18 steals.
Clemson was led by Amari Robinson and Kendall Spray with 16 points each.
Duke will next travel to Syracuse, N.Y., to take on Syracuse Thursday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m., live on ACC Network.
