DURHAM, N.C.— Recently GoDuke.com was able to catch up with Duke alumna and current United States Curtis Cup captain Sarah LeBrun Ingram.
In March, Ingram was named captain for the USA squad that will compete June 12-14, 2020 at Conwy Golf Club in Caenarvonshire, Wales. She was scouting potential team members at the Augusta National Women's Amateur and Ingram took time to talk about the Blue Devils and the Curtis Cup.
Ingram, a member of the 1992, 1994 and 1996 USA Curtis Cup teams, totaled a 2-1 record in singles matches. A 1988 Duke graduate, Ingram was a two-time All-America and four-year letterwinner for the Blue Devils from 1985-88 under Blue Devil head coach Dan Brooks.
Ingram, who was at one time ranked the No. 1 amateur in the world, is a member of the Duke University Sports Hall of Fame, the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame. She won the 1986 and 1987 Maryland State Women's Amateurs, the 1990 Canadian Women's Amateur, the 1991 Women's Western Amateur and Tennessee State Championship, the 1992 Broadmoor Women's Invitational and the 1993 Women's Southern Amateur.
