DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior forward Jack White has earned first-team recognition on the CoSIDA Academic All-District men's basketball team, which was announced Thursday.
White is Duke's first Academic All-District selection since Grayson Allen earned first-team honors in 2015-16. The native of Traralgon, Victoria, Australia, now advances to the national ballot for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team.
Duke's junior co-captain, White owns a 3.38 GPA and is majoring in sociology. The Aussie joins fellow ACC player Luke Maye from North Carolina on the Academic All-District Team for District 3, which also includes first-team honorees Jahaad Proctor (High Point), Tyler Seibring (Elon) and Dylan Windler (Belmont).
White is averaging 4.6 points per game while pulling down 5.2 rebounds this season, good for third on the team. He is third on the team in both total rebounds (136) and blocks (31). White scored a career-high 12 points against San Diego State earlier this season and tied that mark against Clemson to open ACC play.
Aiming to become the Blue Devils' 21st Academic All-America selection, White would join recent Academic All-America honorees Allen (2016), Mason Plumlee (2012, 2013), Greg Paulus (2008, 2009), Mike Dunleavy (2002) and Shane Battier (2000, 2001).
