Three Blue Devils Advance to Sweet 16 in Main Draw

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Duke women's tennis team continued competition at the 2019 ITA Regional Championships Friday evening in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The day of action was highlighted by Meible Chi, Kelly Chen and Margaryta Bilokin all advancing to the Round of 16 in the singles main draw.
No. 5 Chen defeated Lana Mavor (NC State) 6-2, 7-6 (7) and Emma Shelton (South Carolina) 6-3, 7-5 while Chi took down Jenna Vroman (Wofford) 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in three sets before a 7-1 (1), 6-1 victory over North Carolina's Kacie Harvey. Bilokin picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Bethan Taylor of Presbyterian before another straight set 6-1, 6-1 win over Halli Trinkle of Charleston.
In doubles action, Chen and rookie Chloe Beck teamed up to take down Sophia Patel/Kacie Harvey of North Carolina, 8-1.
Duke will return to the court Saturday in Winston-Salem.
