VENICE, Fla. – Following 72 holes at the Panther and Bobcat Courses in Plantation Golf & Country Club for LPGA Stage II Qualifying, Duke women's golfers
Ana Belac and Sandy Choi claimed Symetra Tour status for the 2020 professional season. Â
Belac, a senior at Duke, carded rounds of 74, 71, 71 and 71 for a one-under, 287, to place tied for 61st, while 2014 Blue Devil graduate Sandy Choi turned in scores of 68, 72, 74 and 73 to finish tied for 61st as well with a 287.
Needing to finish in the top 30 and ties to advance to Stage III of LPGA Qualifying School, the Duke duo are still presented with Symetra Tour status to for the 2020 campaign as they will look to finish in the top 10 of the money list to obtain their 2021 LPGA card. Â
Sierra Brooks and Olivia Cowan each finished at 13-under-par, 275, to claim medalist honors.
Belac, a product of Portoroz, Slovenia, will return to Duke's campus with a little over a week before hitting the road to Atlanta, Ga., for the East Lake Cup Oct. 28-30 at the East Lake Golf Club. Â
