Mateas Named Fort Worth Tennis Classic Singles Champ

FORT WORTH, Texas – For the first time in her career, incoming Blue Devil Maria Mateas captured the crown in the finals of the singles main draw at the Fort Worth Tennis Classic on the campus of Texas Christian University.

A native of Braintree, Mass., Mateas downed Robin Anderson 6-3, 7-5 to claim the title Sunday afternoon at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

Mateas is set to join the 2018-19 Duke women's tennis squad this fall.
