DURHAM, N.C., - The Blue Devils tallied two more wins this past week to give Duke a 5-3 record on the season. Duke picked up a big road win in Wisconsin for the ACC/Big 10 Challenge, and its 17th straight December win in Cameron Indoor Stadium against Marist on Sunday. Duke will stay at home all week, but before then, it's time to take a look at the team's blueprints.

The Duke women's basketball team got a big win for the ACC on the road in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge against Wisconsin. In the 60-53 victory, rookie Onome Akinbode-James had a career game notching her first double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Duke defense held Wisconsin to only 26.9 percent shooting from the field and held the Badgers to a season-low 53 points.

Sunday, December 2
The Blue Devils came alive in the fourth quarter, going on a 15-5 run, to take down Marist, 64-56. Leaonna Odom scored 11 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter. Marist led at the half after a last-second three to put them up 29-28. The Red Foxes led most of the third quarter until Jayda Adams drained her fourth three-pointer of the season to put the Blue Devils in the lead. Jade Williams matched season highs with 11 points and eight rebounds in 34 minutes.

Onome Akinbode-James in the Record Books
The rookie had a big game in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Her 14 rebounds came sixth in the record books for most rebounds by a freshman in a single game.

Beginning Dec. 4, The Joanne P. McCallie Radio Show will return and will air from 6-7 p.m., at Tobacco Road Sports Cafe in Durham, N.C.. Jessica Foley Trades the Court for the Field
The former Blue Devil and WNBA player has traded in her basketball jersey for a rugby jersey. Foley was Adelaide Football Club's second pick, 30th overall. Foley played basketball for the Blue Devils, while also taking pre-med classes. She was drafted by the Indiana Fever, but went on to feature a very successful professional basketball career in Australia.

Monique Currie Takes on New Hobby
Monique Currie has spent her past five off-seasons playing in South Korea, and played in Turkey, Romania, and Spain in the years before that. But for the first offseason in her WNBA career, Monique Currie is staying in the states to pursue her off-the-court interests. Aside from her real estate investing company, Currie hopes to become a referee for the NBA or WNBA. But to get there, she has to first start somewhere. Currie recently refereed her first high school game.

Alana Beard Vouched to Never to Play Overseas Again
The Duke All-American and WNBA superstar has had her fair share of injuries and surgeries throughout her career, none of which quite compare to this one. While playing in Poland for Polkowice, Beard was accidentally punched in the face by one of her own teammates and was rushed to a foreign hospital to under major eye surgery for an orbital blowout fracture of the medial wall in her eye. But due to complications and not being able to fly home, Beard went to three different hospitals in Poland before being able to see the best eye doctor in the country. She had to wait three weeks before flying home, and wait six more weeks to be back on the court again. It put her behind in the start of the 2018 WNBA, but nonetheless the 36-year-old still won her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year title.

Haley Peters and Charleville took down Tarbes 94-69, where Peters had 16 points in the game. The squad also traveled to Latvia for a EuroLeague Women game against Riga, and lost 93-62. Peters had seven points and seven rebounds in that game.
Angela Salvadores
Salvadores and Sopron took a trip to Spain for EuroLeague Women play, and faced her formed team Avenida, winning 78-70. Salvadores had two points in the game.
Chloe Wells, '14
Wells and Nymburk played in Slovakia for a EuroCup Women game, losing to Ruzomberok 84-76. Wells notched 27 points in 32 minutes.
Lexie Brown, '18
Brown and Gyor traveled to Portugal to play Uniao in a EuroCup Women game. The squad lost 66-61, and Brown had 20 points in 31 minutes of play.
Kendall Cooper, '17
Cooper and Calais lost 71-48 to Toulouse. Cooper had eight points in the game.
Oderah Chidom, '17
Chidom and Dafni Agiou Dimitriou beat Iraklis 69-61. Chidom had 19 points and 15 rebounds in 36 minutes of play.
Erin Mathias, '18
Mathias put up yet another double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Her Empoli team lost to Ragusa 82-64.
