DURHAM, N.C. – With the 2017 NBA Draft set for Thursday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the Duke men's basketball program has a chance to set a school record with six selections in one NBA Draft.
Amile Jefferson and Matt Jones are automatic entries into the draft after finishing their collegiate eligibility, while Harry Giles, Frank Jackson, Luke Kennard and Jayson Tatum all declared for the draft following stellar 2016-17 seasons.
Duke has had four of its players taken in the same draft twice, the first coming in 1986 and the second when the Blue Devils made history in 1999 as the first program to produce four first-round picks in one season.
The Draft is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET and will be televised by ESPN. The broadcast will also be available via WatchESPN.
Duke in the Draft
- Duke has produced a total of 86 NBA Draft picks since 1952
- Duke has had 53 draft picks under head coach Mike Krzyzewski (since 1981), fourth-most nationally over that time
- The Blue Devils have had at least one player selected in 17 of the last 19 NBA Drafts, including 24 first-round picks
- Duke has had at least one player taken in 29 of the 36 NBA Drafts in the Krzyzewski Era
Duke in the First Round
- Duke has produced 39 first-round picks as a program, including 32 under Coach K
- Coach K's 32 first-round picks are the most by a coach in the history of the NBA Draft
- Duke also has produced a record 21 NBA lottery picks; Coach K's 21 lottery picks are also a record total for a head coach
- Duke has produced three No. 1 overall picks in the NBA Draft, tied for the most in draft history
- Since 1989, Duke has produced 10 top-three picks in the NBA Draft; the next-closest total nationally is five
- Duke's 12 top-10 picks since 1999 are the most in the nation in that timeframe
- The Blue Devils have produced 11 first-round picks in the last six years: Rodney Hood, Brandon Ingram, Kyrie Irving, Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, Jabari Parker, Mason Plumlee, Miles Plumlee, Austin Rivers, Nolan Smith and Justise Winslow
- Duke has produced at least one first-round pick in each of the last six years
- Fourteen of Duke's last 17 overall NBA Draft selections have come in the first round, including nine lottery picks

About Harry Giles
- Owns three gold medals as a member of the USA Basketball program: 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship, 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship
- Has played in 16 games for USA Basketball, making nine starts and averaging 11.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest
- Played in 26 games with six starts for the Blue Devils in 2016-17; part of Duke's first sub group 10 times
- Averaged 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per contest while shooting .577 from the floor
- Scored in double figures twice and had one double-double
- Led Duke in rebounding three times and ranked second on the team with 15 dunks

About Frank Jackson

- Went 67-2 (.971) at Cameron Indoor Stadium over the course of his career, the most home wins and second-best home winning percentage in Duke history
