DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's basketball program is getting set for the NCAA Tournament selection show, which will air Monday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m., on ESPN. The Blue Devils are looking for an at-large bid, which would be the 23rd overall selection. Duke missed the 2016 NCAA Tournament snapping a 22-year streak of competing.
Duke owns an all-time record of 55-22 in NCAA action and advanced to four NCAA Final Fours. In four out of the last seven years, the Blue Devils have reached the NCAA Elite Eight.
The Blue Devils (27-5) enter the NCAAs coming off an ACC Championship game appearance, before falling to top-seeded Notre Dame. Duke has been led by redshirt junior Lexie Brown along with redshirt junior Rebecca Greenwell, who both were selected First Team All-ACC by the Blue Ribbon Panel and the league head coaches.
The tandem of Brown and Greenwell are two of the top scorers in the league combing for 34.7 points a contest, while becoming the first duo in school history to register 70 or more three-pointers in a season.
Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie, who is the 2010, 2012 and 2013 ACC Coach of the Year, has guided the Blue Devils to three ACC Championships.
The Blue Devils currently boasts a NCAA RPI of No. 8 and is ranked No. 9 in both the Associated Press and USA Today Division I Coaches Poll. Duke enters NCAA action winners of 10 out of its last 11 contests.
The NCAA First and Second Rounds will take place March 17-20 at 16 different host sites that will be announced Monday evening.
