Duke Employee Makes Cameron Indoor Stadium Stand Out

DURHAM, N.C. – There's some TLC behind the scenes at Cameron Indoor Stadium that helps makes the basketball venue a bucket list destination for fans. For the past five years, William Harris Jr. has cared for Cameron Indoor.
“I want it to be in tip top shape for visitors, anybody who comes in to see Cameron Indoor Stadium,” said Harris, a floor technician who maintains the floors inside Cameron Indoor. “That's success, when everything is perfect.”
The busiest night of the year for Harris is when Duke men's basketball team plays UNC Chapel Hill at home. Despite the Cameron Crazies pouring into the stadium covered in body paint along with grass and dirt from camping out in Krzyzewskiville, Harris manages to keep the hardwood clean before, during and after the game.
“I don't mind working a little harder for the right to be in here and see a Duke-UNC basketball game. I don't mind at all,” reflected Harris.
