DURHAM, N.C. – Fifth-year senior Lexie Brown of the Duke women's basketball team was selected the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week, after averaging 25.0 points, 7.5 assists, 7.0 steals and 5.5 rebounds over two games.
Brown, a native of Suwanee, Ga., collected a season-high 30 points Sunday in a 101-30 victory over Winthrop in Cameron Indoor Stadium, while also notching six steals, six assists and four rebounds in 29 minutes. Earlier in the week, the 5-9 guard nearly registered a triple-double with 20 points, nine assists, eight steals and seven rebounds in an 85-54 win over UNC Greensboro.
On the week, she hit 64.7 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three-point land. Duke improved to 8-2 on the season heading into exam break.
Duke will be off until Dec. 19 when the Blue Devils host Maine at 7 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The game will be aired live on ACC Network Extra.
