Duke wrestling head coach welcomes seven newcomers to the program for the 2016-17 season. Take a few minutes to learn more about each of our newest wrestlers. Parker Walton comes to Durham after a successful scholastic career at Weddington High School.
Before Duke: A four-year letterwinner for Shane Rimmer at Weddington High School … Compiled a school record 203 career wins, posting a 203-15 scholastic record … Recorded a 57-1 record his junior season at 106 pounds and earned All-America honors … A four-time state qualifier … Placed at the North Carolina State Tournament in each of his sophomore, junior and senior seasons … Advanced to the state finals in the 106-pound division as a sophomore and junior … Moved up to 120 pounds his senior year and finished 48-5 … Four-time conference champion … Named the conference wrestler of the year his final two seasons … Two-time regional champion … Named the Weddington Male Athlete of the Year as a senior … Scored 111 career pins … Was a member of the National Honor Society.
