THE OPENING TIP
• Duke finished 25-11 in 2015-16, winning at least 20 games for the 51st time in program history and the 20th year in a row. The Blue Devils have won at least 25 games in nine consecutive seasons.
• Duke reached the NCAA Tournament for 21st year in a row, earning the No. 4 seed in the West Region. The Blue Devils advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 25 time, the second-most in NCAA history.
• Duke's 15 Sweet 16 appearances since 1998 are the most in the nation over that stretch.
• Duke has the best NCAA Tournament winning percentage in the event's history (.754) and ranks third all-time in NCAA Tournament wins (107).
• Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski has won a record 90 NCAA Tournament games. Only one other active coach (Roy WIlliams) has coached in 90 NCAA Tournament contests.
• Krzyzewski has now coached 31 Duke players to All-America honors a total of 45 times after Grayson Allen (2nd - Sporting News; 3rd - AP, NABC; Wooden) and Brandon Ingram (HM - AP) earned the acclaim in 2016.
• Allen was also named a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American, becoming the sixth Duke player to earn All-America and Academic All-America honors in the same season.
• Allen was a first-team All-ACC pick and earned Co-Most Improved Player honors from the coaches. Ingram was a second-team All-ACC selection and the ACC Freshman of the Year.
• Allen became just the ninth player to lead Duke in both scoring (21.6) and assists (3.5) in a season. He was also the seventh Duke player to average 20+ points and dish out 100 assists (127) in a season.
• Ingram led ACC freshmen in scoring (17.3), three-point percentage (.410), rebounding (6.8) and double-doubles (8), and ranked second in blocks (1.4).
• Ingram's average of 17.3 points per game tied for the third-best ever by a Duke freshman and ranked third among major-conference freshmen in 2015-16 (Jamal Murray - 20.0; Ben Simmons - 19.2).
• Allen and Ingram combined to average 38.9 points per game, making them the highest-scoring duo in the ACC in 2015-16.
• Duke's average of 81.1 points per game was the sixth-best among major-conference teams in 2015-16. The Blue Devils ranked seventh nationally in offensive efficiency (119.3).
• Duke made 328 three-pointers on the year, the program's second-best single-season total. Allen (90), Ingram (80) and Matt Jones (76) were the first trio in Duke history to each make 70+ threes in a season.
• Luke Kennard shot a team-best .889 (88-of-99) from the free throw line, tying for the third-best free throw percentage by a freshman in school history.
• Marshall Plumlee ranked third nationally with a .688 effective field goal percentage and dunked 60 times on the season, tied for the fourth-best single-season total in program history.
