ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Duke men's basketball team, two days away from its Sweet 16 matchup with No. 1 seed Oregon, held a closed practice at nearby Chapman University in Orange, Calif., Tuesday afternoon, allowing the team to stretch out following its cross-country flight the previous evening.
The Blue Devils, the No. 4 seed in the West Region, arrived in Anaheim, Calif., late Monday night, providing the team with an opportunity to acclimate to the three-hour time difference. The Blue Devil Network caught up with associate head coach
Jeff Capel, as well as junior guard
Matt Jones following the conclusion of the team's practice. Both discussed how the extra day in Anaheim plays a crucial role in preparing for Thursday's contest.
Duke is set to make its 25th Sweet 16 appearance, but the Blue Devils are not satisfied with simply playing into the Sweet 16, as both Capel and Jones explained to the Blue Devil Network.
Duke looks to improve on its NCAA Tournament record of 107-34 Thursday at 10:07 p.m. (ET), as the Blue Devils face Oregon at the Honda Center.
