Blue Devils to Face West Virginia for NCAA College Cup Bid... For the fifth time over the last six years, the Duke women's soccer team (15-4-3) will play in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship as the third-seeded and 14th-ranked Blue Devils will compete at top-seeded and No. 1 ranked West Virginia (21-1-2) Saturday, Nov. 26 at 3 p.m., in Morgantown, W.Va.
Saturday's match will be aired live on www.wvusports.com.
Duke is playing in the NCAA quarterfinals in back-to-back seasons for the fourth time in program history and ninth overall time.
The Blue Devils have a tough task for the second consecutive season playing in the NCAA Quarterfinals on the road versus the top overall seed. Last year, Duke and top-seeded Stanford played to a 1-1 score in regulation, before the Blue Devils advanced, 3-2, in penalty kicks.
A Win Would... • Send Duke to the NCAA College Cup for the fourth time in school history and the second straight season (1992, 2011, 2015).
• Advance the Blue Devils to the NCAA College Cup where they would face the winner of the North Carolina/South Carolina match.
• Would move to 4-5 all-time in NCAA quarterfinal action
In the Rankings... Duke is listed No. 14 in the Soccer America and NSCAA top 25 rankings, while being No. 15 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com listing. West Virginia is ranked No. 1 in all three national polls.
In the latest NCAA RPI, Duke is listed No. 15 and the Blue Devils' four losses have come to No. 2 (West Virginia), No. 14 Clemson, No. 17 (FSU) and No. 18 (Arkansas). West Virginia is listed No . 2.
A Look at West Virginia... West Virginia owns a 21-1-2 record on the season and is undefeated over its last 15 matches in a row. The Mountaineers advanced to the quarterfinals on penalty kicks over 14th-ranked UCLA. West Virginia has been led by Michaela Abam (11 goals, 8 assists), Sh'Nia Gordon (7 goals, 3 assists), Carla Portillo (5 goals, 7 assists) and Ashley Lawrence (3 goals, 10 assists) on the season.
The Series with West Virginia... Duke and West Virginia will meet for the fourth time in school history. The Blue Devils own a 1-1-1 record and will compete against each other for the fourth time over the last four years.
On Sept. 6, 2013, Duke and West Virginia battled to a 1-1 double-overtime draw in Durham and then the Blue Devils registered a 2-0 win Aug. 29, 2014 on the road in Morgantown in front of 2,045 fans, which was the third-best crowd in school history.

Duke Against the Big 12 Conference... The Blue Devils own a 5-5-1 overall record against teams from the Big 12 conference -- Baylor (0-1), Kansas (0-1), Oklahoma State (0-1), Texas (2-1), TCU (1-0) and West Virginia (1-1-1). Duke has a record of 0-1 against Big 12 opponents in the NCAA Tournament as the Blue Devils dropped a 2-0 decision to Oklahoma State on the road in 2010.

Rebecca Quinn played on the Canada Women's National Team over the summer in the Olympics along with Virginia's Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence.
The trio helped lead Canada to its second straight bronze medal in Rio in August.
How We Got Here... Duke advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship behind a 3-0 win over Charlotte, a 3-1 victory over Illinois State and a 1-0 win versus Northwestern.

She now ranks third on Duke's all-time NCAA Tournament points list with 16, third with six goals and tied fourth with four assists.
Over her Duke career, Payne owns 23 goals and 21 assists becoming the sixth Blue Devil to reach the 20-20 club. She is also one of only three Duke players in school history to have at least 21 goals and 21 assists.
