DURHAM, N.C.— As the third-seeded Duke women's soccer gets set to open the second round of the NCAA Championship Friday at home versus Illinois State, the Blue Devil Network caught up with head coach Robbie Church along with starting defenders Morgan Reid and Schuyler DeBree to talk about the defensive unit.
The defense has registered 10 shutouts on the season and helped the Blue Devils to 13 wins on the season. Our defensive philosophy starts with our forwards,” commented Church. “Once we don't have the ball, everyone is a defender.”
Duke will face Illinois State at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, while Northwestern will take on SIUE at 3:30 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.
