Joanne P. McCallie has announced Blue Devil freshman
Emily Schubert will miss the 2016-17 campaign, after suffering a torn ACL during practice. The 6-4 center will apply for a medical redshirt and have four years remaining.
Schubert, a native of Elizabethton, Tenn., was an All-Region, All-District and All-Conference selection in her final year at Elizabethton H.S. She led her high school squad to a 124-10 overall record with four district, regional and sectional titles. As a senior, Schubert averaged 11.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks.
Duke will host its annual Blue/White Scrimmage Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Admission is free.
