DURHAM, N.C. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its academic awards list Thursday, with Duke earning a spot on this year's ITA All-Academic Teams list. In addition to the team honor, recent graduate Annie Mulholland and rising junior Chalena Scholl also received recognition for individual academic accomplishments.
In order for a team to be considered for the ITA All-Academic Team award, a program must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.20, while an individual must be a varsity letter winner, maintain a grade point average of at least 3.50 during the current academic year and must be enrolled at the school for at least two semesters in order to be considered for the ITA Scholar-Athlete honor.
Duke was joined by five other schools from the ACC on the team list, including Boston College, Clemson, Miami, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
Mulholland earned a spot on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list for the third time in her career, while Scholl appears on the list for the second time. Mulholland first garnered the honor in 2013, and was once again a recipient in 2014. Scholl's recent academic achievement marks the second consecutive year she joined the ranks on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list.
Each member of the 2015 ITA All-Academic Teams and ITA Scholar-Athletes will receive a certificate to commemorate the accomplishment.
