Duke had a great weekend in Charlotte, N.C., competing in the second and third rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils earned wins over Robert Morris and San Diego State to advance them to the Sweet Sixteen in Houston.
The Blue Devils opened NCAA Tournament play with an 85-56 win over Robert Morris in the second round match up, moving Duke's all-time record in such games to 100-34. Duke narrowly missed matching its best field goal percentage in an NCAA Tournament game after shooting 63.0 percent from the floor. The Blue Devils also registered 28 assists, the most by a Duke team in an NCAA Tournament game.
Justise Winslow earned his sixth double-double of the year after scoring 13 points and bringing down 12 rebounds, helping Duke reach the Sweet Sixteen. Winslow's stat line proved even more outstanding after he became just the second player in Duke history to record impressive numbers in a variety of other categories, as well.
Two incoming freshmen, Luke Kennard and Chase Jeter, were named their respective state's Gatorade Player of the Year earlier this week.
