Roundball Notebook: Tournament Season is Here

Tournament season is upon us, with the Fighting Irish earning their first ACC Tournament Championship Saturday evening in a 90-82 win over North Carolina. Duke looks to rebound from a semfinal loss to Notre Dame, with the NCAA Tournament just on the horizon.

Duke as a No. 1 Seed
Duke earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time in program history and is set to face the winner of North Florida and Robert Morris, Friday, March 20. The Blue Devils own an overall record of 45-9 when playing as a No. 1 seed, reaching the NCAA Championship game six times while playing as a top seed.

Duke Falls in ACC Tournament Semifinals
After a strong showing in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament, with the Blue Devils defeating NC State, 77-53, Duke fell in the semifinal round to eventual conference champion, Notre Dame.

I Hate Christian Laettner
ESPN ran a 30 for 30 Sunday evening which featured former Blue Devil, Christian Laettner, and his polarizing personality that made him one of the most memorable players in college basketball history.

Parker Works on Returning to the Court
On Dec. 15, former Blue Devil Jabari Parker tore his left ACL in a contest against the Suns. Although he is lost for the remainder of his rookie season, he is hard at work on rehabilitating the injury in an effort to return to the court.
