MIKE KRZYZEWSKI ERA Cont.
71. Feb. 9, 2011 – No. 5 Duke 79, No. 20 North Carolina 73
Playing without the injured Kyrie Irving, Duke fell far behind North Carolina. The Devils trailed by 16 points late in the first half and by 14 at the break. However, Seth Curry's jumper just before halftime proved to be the start of an 18-6 run that got Duke back in the game. Curry had 22 points off the bench to support senior Nolan Smith, who finished with 34 points, including a game-clinching drive and dunk with nine seconds left.
72. Feb. 16, 2012 – No. 5 Duke 78, N,C. State 73
Just eight days after Duke's remarkable comeback to beat North Carolina in Chapel Hill, the Blue Devils had to do it again – this time at home. The Wolfpack, fighting for an NCAA bid, dominated the early part of the game, opening up a 16-point halftime edge and stretching it to 20 points with just 11 minutes to play. Seth Curry started the comeback with three free throws when fouled on a 3-point try. Freshman Austin Rivers and veteran Andre Dawkins also hit big 3-pointers as Duke chipped away at the lead. With just under three minutes left. Rivers hit the go-ahead 3-pointer -- a carbon copy of his game-winner in Chapel Hill. Duke hit its free throws down the stretch to lock up one of the great comebacks in school history.
73. Nov. 28, 2012 – No. 2 Duke 73, No. 4 Ohio State 68
Just four days after returning from a stunning triumph in the Bahamas – culminating with a victory over eventual national champion Louisville – Duke took on Ohio State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Buckeyes jumped to a 31-23 halftime lead, but with senior center Mason Plumlee pouring in 21 points and grabbing 17 rebounds, Duke seized control of the game in the second half. Freshman Rasheed Sulaimon and junior Tyler Thornton combined to put the clamps on OSU All-American Aaron Craft, who finished with just 13 points of 3-of-15 shooting.
74. Mar. 2, 2013 – No. 3 Duke 79, No. 5 Miami 76
Duke was undefeated and the nation's number one ranked team when senior Ryan Kelly broke his foot in early January. In his absence, Duke went 9-4. Kelly made his return against Miami, the ACC's first-place team. Not much was expected, but the 6-11 stretch forward responded with the best game of his career – 36 points (7-of-9 3-pointers), seven rebounds and two steals. That was enough to overcome the eventual ACC champs.
75. Feb. 22, 2014 – No. 5 Duke 66, No. 1 Syracuse 60
New ACC member Syracuse had prevailed in dramatic fashion a month earlier in the Carrier Dome and the rematch was equally thrilling. Duke, forced by a weather cancelation to take on the top-ranked Orange less than 48 hours after losing to UNC in Chapel Hill, got 19 points and 10 rebounds from freshman Jabari Parker to forge a 60-58 lead in the final seconds. With just over 10 seconds to play, Syracuse forward C.J. Fair drove the baseline and collided with Duke's Rodney Hood as he attempted the game-tying shot. When Grant was called for the charge, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim went ballistic, drawing two technical fouls and the ejection. Duke clinched the game at the foul line.
