Setting the Scene
Coming off a break for the Christmas holiday, the 12th-ranked Duke women's basketball team (9-3) will close non-conference action with two home contests in a span of three days in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils will host Western Carolina (3-8) Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m., followed by a New Year's Eve afternoon contest against UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m., on Dec. 31. Both games will be aired live on the Blue Devil Network Plus via www.GoDuke.com. Tuesday's game will also carried on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network on WDNC 620 AM, 99.3 FM, 96.5 FM and www.GoDuke.com with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) on the air beginning at 6:30 p.m. Duke will open a week in which the Blue Devils will play three games over six days, including the ACC opener at Syracuse Sunday, Jan. 3.

There is no charge for parking in the Blue Zone Lots or Chemistry Lot ... Game day parking in PG4 costs $5 per vehicle ... General Public Parking for Persons with Disabilities is available in the Science Drive Visitor's Lot located off of Science Drive.
A Look at Western Carolina
WCU enters the game Tuesday with a 3-8 overall record, including a four-game losing streak. The Catamounts are led by Ace Easter (9.4 points, 10 treys) on the year.
The Series with Western Carolina
Duke begins its final non-conference homestand on December 29 as Western Carolina travels east to battle the Blue Devils. The all-time series is all tied at three games apiece. However, the Blue Devils have won each of the last three games against the Catamounts, most recently a 117-44 home win on February 9, 1994. Western Carolina's last win over Duke came in an 89-78 contest in 1979 in Cullowhee, N.C.
Duke Against the Southern Conference
Duke owns an 18-5 record all-time against teams from the Southern Conference—Furman (4-0), Samford (1-0), UNCG (10-2) and Western Carolina (3-3). The Blue Devils have won 14 games in a row against Southern Conference teams. The last loss was against Western Carolina in 1979. Coach P has totaled a 6-1 record against teams from the Southern Conference—Georgia Southern (1-0), Mercer (2-0), UNCG (1-0), Samford (2-0) and Western Carolina (0-1).
Blue Devils at Home
Duke owns a 5-1 record at home this season and holds a 19.2 scoring margin in those contests. Azurá Stevens is averaging 20.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.8 blocks, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists in Cameron this season. She is hitting 56.2 percent of her field goals. Freshman Angela Salvadores is averaging 9.8 points, 4.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds, while hitting 53.8 percent from the field. Rebecca Greenwell owns averages of 17.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.5 steals in the six home games. She is hitting 50.0 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from downtown.
