DURHAM, N.C.— Many former Blue Devils are currently playing overseas and GoDuke.com took some time to check in on them to see how they are performing in their different countries. A total of 11 Blue Devils are seeing action and performing at a high level for their teams.
Monique Currie – Duke '06
Shinhan Bank S-Birds (South Korea-WKBL), 6-0, Forward
2015 Stats: 13 games, 18.0 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 3.6 APG, 1.3 SPG, 1.2 BPG
Monique Currie returned to South Korea for the offseason, this time playing for the S-Birds. Appearing in all 13 games this season, Currie currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game. She is second in rebounds and assists per game, at 8.3 and 3.6, respectively. On November 21st, Currie posted a season-high 30 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks in 44 minutes of play against the KB Stars. This game marked her second of the season. Currie has lead the S-Birds to a 8-5 start this season, posting 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists in their most recent game.
