KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Rain forced the cancellation of the final round of the Kiawah Classic by Aramark on Tuesday, giving the Duke men's golf team a tie for third in the final tournament on its fall schedule.
Though some teams were able to make it through as many as seven holes on Tuesday, the course was deemed unplayable shortly after noon. All scores through Monday's second round became final. The Blue Devils finished the event with a total of 575 (-1).
Sophomore Adam Wood and junior Max Greyserman finished the tournament in a tie for ninth place with totals of 141 (-3). The performance marked Wood's fourth top-10 showing in five fall tournaments, and was both Greyserman's first top 10 and best finish of the fall slate.
Sophomore Jake Shuman and freshman Alex Smalley both finished the tournament with totals of 147 (+3), good for a tie for 32nd place. Junior Matt Oshrine tied for 40th with a total of 148 (+4).
Playing as an individual, junior Alexander Matlari tied for 66th with a total of 152 (+8).
With its fall schedule complete, Duke will return to action in February when it takes part in the Prestige at PGA WEST in La Quinta, Calif., from Feb. 15-17.
