Blue Devils Continue to Lead Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – For the second straight day, the fifth-ranked Duke women's golf team turned in an under-par round as the Blue Devils posted a team-best four-under-par, 284, and leads by 10 strokes at the 2015 Landfall Tradition, which is being played at the 6,157-yard, par 72 Pete Dye Course located at the Country Club of Landfall.

As a team, Duke has carded rounds of 287 and 284 for a two-day ledger of five-under-par, 571, which is 10 strokes ahead of Oklahoma State (581). Rounding out the top 10 teams are Alabama (585), Notre Dame (585), UNC Wilmington (587), Purdue (596), Wake Forest (597), Michigan State (597), Virginia (604) and Clemson (604).

The Blue Devils will open the final round Sunday beginning at 8:45 a.m., with a shotgun start along with Oklahoma State and Alabama. If Duke can collect the victory, it would mark the second consecutive team win for the Blue Devils.

Collecting Duke's best round Saturday was senior Celine Boutier with a bogey-free afternoon of three-under-par, 69. She moved up to tied seventh overall with a 36-hole total of 144. Boutier, who hails from Montrouge, France, rolled in birdies on No. 5, No. 6 and No. 11 on the day.

Sophomore Leona Maguire will enter Sunday's final round tied for fourth overall with a one-under-par, 143. Maguire, a native of Cavan, Ireland, carded an even-par, 72, in the second round and trails individual leader Isabella DiLisio of Notre Dame by six strokes (137). Maguire opened the day with a bogey and double-bogey on the first two holes, but played the final 16 holes at three-under with birdies on the sixth, eighth and 13th holes.

With a one-under-par, 71, freshman Virginia Elena Carta matched a career-best round Saturday and owns a two-day mark of 144, which is tied seventh overall. A product of Udine, Italy, Carta totaled two birdies over her final six holes, including a five-footer on No. 18, to finish strong. She hit 11 fairways, 16 greens and had 34 putts on the day.

After firing a four-under, 68, in round one as she registered only 28 putts, junior Sandy Choi couldn't get her putter working as well in round two as she finished with 36 putts and a four-over, 76. Choi, who is from Seoul, South Korea, is tied seventh with a 144. On the day, Choi was one-under through six holes, but back-to-back bogies on No. 7 and No. 8 and a three-over-par back nine dropped her to a 76. She hit 12 fairways and 14 greens Saturday.

Sophomore Gurbani Singh was solid all day as she carded 16 pars, two birdies and two bogeys for an even-par, 72. She is tied 18th overall with rounds of 75 and 72 for a total of 147. A native of New Delhi, India. Singh notched her birdies on No. 4 and No. 18.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Lisa Maguire signed for her second straight round of 79 as she was heled without a birdie in the second round.
