Cook on Duke's All-Time Charts•
Quinn Cook did not score double-digit points for just the second game this season. Cook remained in 45th on Duke's all-time scorers list with 1,127 points.
• Cook's 2-of-7 (.286) shooting performance from beyond the arc extended his consecutive games with a made three-pointer streak to an ACC-leading 27. Cook's last game without at least one made three pointer came against Maryland on Feb. 15, 2014.
On the Offensive End• Three or more Blue Devils scored in double digits for the 17th game this season (Jefferson-19, Okafor-18, Jones-10).
• Duke outscored Louisville in the paint, 32-24, marking the second time in five games the Blue Devils were able to score more points in the paint than its opponent.
• Duke led at halftime for the 16th time this season. The Blue Devils are outscoring teams by an average of 10.8 points in the first half this season.
• Duke closed the first half of play on a 21-8 run.
• Louisville outrebounded Duke, 38-32, marking just the second game this season a Duke opponent brought down more boards than the Blue Devils.
Duke's Defense• Duke forced Louisville to commit 10 turnovers, including four in the first six possessions. Duke has recorded double-digit takeaways in all 17 games this season.
• Duke held Louisville to 4-of-25 (.160) from three-point range after allowing opponents to shoot 20-of-36 (.556) over the last two games.
Fresh Faces• For the 17th straight game, three freshmen (
Tyus Jones,
Jahlil Okafor and
Justise Winslow) started, marking the first time since 1983 that three or more freshmen started 17 consecutive games in the Coach K era.
• Saturday's game marked the 52nd time during the Coach K era three freshmen started. In 1982-83, three or more freshmen started 27 games, the highest number of games with three or more freshmen starting under Coach K.
• Saturday's contest marked the 15th time this season that two or more freshman scored double digit points for the Blue Devils. (Okafor-18, Jones-10).
• A freshman did not serve as Duke's leading scorer for just the fourth time in 17 games this season.
• Okafor shot 8-of-10 (.800) from the field, the eighth game this season he shot 75-percent-or-better from the field, making him the 12th player in Duke history to record eight games in a season of shooting 75-percent-or-better. Brian Zoubek last accomplished the feat in 2009-10.
• Jones dished eight assists, bringing his season total to 87. Jones' 87 assists this season rank tied for ninth on Duke's freshman season records list with William Avery. His 5.1 apg. ranks fourth on Duke's freshman season records list.
