Duke Alumna Mistie Bass Wins WNBA Championship

DURHAM, N.C.— Duke University 2006 alumna Mistie Bass and the Phoenix Mercury claimed the 2014 WNBA title over the weekend with a three-game sweep of the Chicago Sky. Bass became the second Blue Devil to win a WNBA title.
Bass, who is from Janesville, Wis., just completed her seventh year in the WNBA. The 6-3 forward played in 34 games, while averaging 4.4 points and 3.2 rebounds. Bass hit 50.9 percent of her field goals on the season. In three games of the WNBA finals, Bass averaging 5.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists. She hit 70.0 percent of her field goals.
