GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the 15th time in 46 years, and the fourth time in six years, the Duke men's basketball team opens the season as conference favorites, as voted on by media in attendance at the league's annual media day. In addition to the top-team preseason ranking, members of the media also voted freshman Jahlil Okafor ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year, and named the rookie center to the 2014-15 Preseason All-ACC Team with 57 votes.
Duke garnered 41 first-place votes and ranked in the top-five of the preseason poll for the eighth consecutive year. North Carolina ranked second in the preseason poll with 12 first-place votes, while Louisville (No. 3), Virginia (No. 4) and Syracuse (No. 5) rounded out the top five. Pittsburgh ranked just outside the top five with a sixth-place preseason ranking, while the remainder of the poll included No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 8 Florida State, No. 9 NC State, No. 10 Miami, No. 11 Clemson, No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 13 Georgia Tech, No. 14 Boston College and No. 15 Virginia Tech.

On the All-ACC Preseason team, Okafor is joined by North Carolina's Marcus Paige, Louisville's Montrezl Harrell, Virginia's Malcolm Brogdon and Notre Dame's Jerian Grant. Okafor also received 15 ACC Preseason Player of the Year votes and opens his freshman campaign following a 27-point showing at the annual Countdown to Craziness intra-squad scrimmage.
The Blue Devils welcome Livingstone to Cameron Indoor Stadium Tuesday, Nov. 4, for an exhibition game. The contest is set to tip at 7 p.m.
