DURHAM, N.C. - Duke University rising junior
Natasha Anasi concluded her travels to Norway on Wednesday with the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team as the squad won the Three Nations Tournament with a 1-1-1 overall record.
The U-23 squad defeated Norway, 4-1, tied Sweden, 1-1, and fell to Norway, 4-2, in the three matches that were played at the Overlands Minde Stadium in Stjordalen, Norway.
Anasi, who is a native of Arlington, Texas, came off the bench in the first match against Sweden, but started the final two matches and played all 90 minutes in the two contests against Norway. In the 4-2 loss to Norway, Anasi assisted on one goal as she cleared a free kick and sent a far-post cross to Amber Brooks, who finished with a diving header in the 35th minute. It was during a span where the U.S. team scored two goals in three minutes.
A 5-6 defender, Anasi was a First Team All-America and a finalist for the Hermann Trophy a year ago for the Blue Devils, who advanced to the NCAA College Cup for the first time since 1992.
The international friendly in Norway concludes the U.S. U-23 activity for the summer.
