Wrestling Team Earns NWCA Team Academic Award

DURHAM, N.C.-For the seventh straight year the Duke University wrestling team ranks among the top 30 academically among Division I programs. The Blue Devils come in at No. 23 overall on the National Wrestling Coaches Association list with a team grade point average of 3.05.

Duke is one of 27 programs to earn at least a 3.0 team grade point average and ranks second among ACC schools. The University of Virginia is the top ACC school in the list at No. 14. The University of Nebraska owns the top spot with a 3.46 grade point average.

In 2012, Duke posted a 3-10-0 overall record and 0-5 mark in ACC competition. The Blue Devils finished sixth at the ACC Championships. Freshman Tanner Hough represented Duke at the NCAA Championships this season.
