CHICAGO -- Duke commit Rasheed Sulaimon claimed the 2012 McDonald's All-America Powerade Jam Fest three-point shootout crown on Monday night in Chicago. The Houston, Texas (Strake Jesuit), native becomes the eighth Blue Devil to capture the three-point shootout title at the event.
Sulaimon joins Chris Collins (1992), Trajan Langdon (1994), Nate James (1996), Shane Battier (1997), Chris Duhon (2000), J.J. Redick (2002) and Ryan Kelly (2009) as past Duke winners of the event.
Mike Krzyzewski has coached all 56 of Duke's McDonald's All-Americans, including current players Quinn Cook, Kelly, Mason Plumlee and Marshall Plumlee. Duke has had at least one participant in every McDonald's All-American game since 1985. Coach K has recruited 54 of the 56 Blue Devils that have played in the McDonald's All-American game.
Sulaimon, ranked 14th overall and No. 3 among shooting guard in the ESPN.com recruiting rankings, will play for the West squad in this year's McDonald's All-American high school all-star game on Wednesday at the United Center in Chicago. The game will be televised on ESPN beginning at 9:30 p.m.
